Very well done! The dough is splendid. Form and freshness is great. My only gripe is the filling. All filled versions have about a quarter sized drop, not kidding! They really need to fill their donuts more, it's so disappointing. :(

Nice staff and environment but the quality was woeful. I’ve got Czeck lineage and have been to the czeck republic and eaten bread and pastries. Lau’s bohemian dark rye was like any supermarket bread but dark and when I looked at the ingredients i needed a chemistry degree! I don’t know if it’s their fault or if this is just what most Americans want these days but it sure isn’t anything like what our ancestors ate.

Lau's Czech Bakery is the only place in New Prague that is bustling at 6am except the fitness center! You have your morning regulars that share a cup of coffee, treat and good conversation. You have your high school students coming in to grab a donut on their way to school. You have your young parents (or grandparents) bringing in their toddlers to pick out a colorfully sprinkled long john. Besides their bakery items their lunches are homemade, delicious and reasonably priced! Their counter and stools are exactly what you'd remember from a diner years ago. Plus their caraway bread is to die for!

We love this small town, keep the tradition, bakery! Always fun having a conversation with locals. Our boys enjoy bringing a game & eating donuts on thier 90 min late start days!

Perfect food, perfect place

A wonderful little gem! Went in for a dozen donuts and it was the perfect experience of a small town Minnesota bakery. There aren’t enough places like this left! The donuts were wonderful, great selection, delicious.

Lau's is simply the best! We love coming in for donuts, kolackys, cookies, and their amazing lunches! I also order donuts for my class on my birthday and they are budget friendly and always well made! You won't find anything better!

I was told to go to school at 6 and the teacher never showed up.So I walked to the bakery to eat and stay warm, the survive was great. The donuts are fantastic!!

Amazing food and service.

I received wonderful treatment at Lau's, with the staff telling me about any pastry (that they prepare the same day) that I asked them about. They have cheap prices, a very loving atmosphere, and are located in a very easy to see location on Main Street. I'd gladly go again!

Everything is freshly baked plus the prices are very cheap and is just a great little place to sit down and just relax.

Plus a little diner inside. Very respectful place young and old grandkids love it especially thank you for all your hard work !!!!!

Very good prices. I just stopped in for a doughnut but I'll be back to try the pho sometime. It's an interesting mix to offer both items in one place.

Raised glazed are second to none. Best you'll find. Avoid the cookies and kolachies, both are dry. Other items okay. Does serve a menu of breakfast and lunch items. Not open late afternoon and evenings.

oh Lau's How much I love this gem of a place. Seriously best Donuts and pastries around and its in a straight up small town diner type place thats been there since the beginning of time. Test this place out and prove me wrong. never happen. GO HERE STAT, unless you hate friendly home town places with reasonably priced delicious food, then don't.

Worth stopping here for a treat if you’re in town. My family has enjoyed the kolackys here for years.

As tasty as I remember their pastries, but I agree with the other poster that more filling is needed.

Lau's bakery is absolutely amazing. Great food and an amazing bakery! This is definitely a family friendly place and there prices are very affordable. I definitely recommend visiting Lau's bakery sometime soon!

Delicious baked treats and even better hot coffee. I love having this darling bakery in town. Keep up the great work!

Coffee and burgers were good. Some of the pastries were a little dry.
